Abigail and Zachary Pierre the proud parents of four.

The babies are finally here.

I was totally beginning to worry about Abigail as the kittens did not seem to want to be born, I had the latest possible due date as August 1st which was 65 days and they were not born until August 5th which was day 69. Abigail was so huge and uncomfortable, I noticed her straining in the litter box a little after midnight on Tuesday and nothing was happening, Then I noticed the contractions and by 1:00 am they were coming a lot faster, the first kitten arrived at 4:o5 am. it was a blue just like Daddy, the next one arrived at 4:20 am a black, who looks like sister Zoe, 4:45 another blue like Daddy Zachary Pierre, It was sad because this one didn't make it.I am fairly sure it was stillborn. 5:00 am a himalayan, 5:45 another himalayan.

Abigail keep falling asleep standing, nursing the babies and tying up the loose ends, I am so proud of her, she is a great mom already. The babies are so cute and at 3 days old, already I can tell they are growing on a daily basis, I cannot tell if we have males or females yet or what colors the himalayan's will be as they are still solid white with pink ears, noses, and feet. I am sure that they are not seal points like m0m because seal points have the brown noses and foot pads, I am also sure they will not be blue points or their noses and foot pads would be blue. I am hoping for lilac as these are the most uncommon to come by because both mom and dad must be a carrier of the lilac gene. I do know that the himmies will have those gorgeous blue eyes that I love so much, I am hoping the blue and black will also carry the blue eyes, but Daddy Zack has great copper eyes which could be dominate, I guess I shall just have to be patient and wait and see as all kittens are born with blue and then they will change as they grow older to the color they will be.

One think for sure, they are healthy and strong and are keeping mommy Abagail very busy. She is being a very good mom and if they cry, she makes sure to run to their rescue. I am so proud of her.

I let daddy Zach in to meet the babies after all were settled in and nursing, He took one look and seemed unsure as to if they might hurt him, he seemed quite puzzled and turned tail and left the room and has not bothered to check on them again.

Sounds just like the typical male alright. Enjoy the pics and check back often and enjoy watching them grow.
