I am so excited, my very first litter of persian grandkitties are coming soon. The breeding went on for about 7 days, Abigail's nipples started pinking up around 10 days later, then she started sleeping more and playing less, her appetite is growing and so is she, seems like she looks rounder every day now. I cannot wait to see the kittens and am starting to worry about trouble with the delivery, as persians have big fat round heads and sometimes have trouble delivering and need a c-section, Let us cross our fingers and toes that she has no problems. She is now 30 days into the pregnancy and should be due the last week of July or at the very latest the 1st of August. Persians usually have on average of three to four kittens and the breeder I got her from has had as many as six a few times. I hope they are healthy and look like daddy Zachary as he is the most beautiful cat I have ever seen. I am hoping for Abigails blue eyes and have a good shot at this because Zachary's mom had the blue eyes, and was a seal point himmie just like Abigail. Zachary has beautiful copper eyes like his dad. I think Abigail will be a good mom and I will have lots of fun watching the kittens grow for about 10 to 12 weeks to be mature enough to go to their forever homes. I have a few people interested in a baby to date, so if anyone out there wants a lap cat, sweet and docile, that is what persians are all about and I suppose that is why I love them so much, I suppose that is the reason that they are the #1 popular breed. Their coat requires regular grooming as their fur can be close to 8 inches in length, and is so baby fine soft that you must pet them, It is for this reason that they must be house cats and not be allowed outside because they would drag in everything outside, twigs, dirt, etc. inside on their magnificent coats and become a groomers nightmare. It also keeps them safe from airborne illness, dogs, cat fights, motor vehicles etc. If you or someone you know is a cat lover and is the market for a sweet baby kitten contact me as they will be reasonably priced. I am anxiously anticipating delivery day, but am already dreading the babies moving on to their forever homes as it will be hard to part with them and to say goodbye.
Stay tuned for updates as the babies will be here very soon .
